The fact that each star is a sun, with many having their own solar systems, serves as a strong reminder of the universe’s vast size. However, as comparison to other galaxies, the distances between stars in our galaxy are minuscule. Nebulous stars, also known as diffuse smudgy or foggy stars, have been seen since antiquity. Some of them turned out to be nebulae, or areas where stars develop, as we now know them. Many of them turned out to be something quite different. It wasn’t until the 1920s that it was verified that many of these hazy stars were in fact whole separate galaxies, containing billions of stars far beyond our own Milky Way.

There is endless information available about space and galaxy, yet it is only a grain of knowledge compared to what is out there, billions and trillions of stars and countless galaxies revolving and evolving every day, the concept of time is nothing but an illusion under the spectrum of space. And human minds are small to comprehend the vastness and hollowness of space that cannot even fathom what lies beyond our galaxy and what lies beneath it, there are terms such as Black holes and White holes that are as massive as our entire galaxy and with no explanation to what lies behind it. Space is a scary mysterious place that perks excitement and nervousness at the same time; excitement to know more and curiosity to discover further whereas nervousness for how small humans and our planet is in front of all of eternity.

Once, the Earth was originally thought to be at the center of a little universe, we now see it as a single globe orbiting one of the 300 billion stars in our galaxy, which is merely one of over a hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe. Even today, it’s impossible to comprehend exactly how little and insignificant our planet is in comparison to the immensity of the observable universe.
