OreGairu’s popularity is evident by the number of fans it has amassed. The anime series premiered in Japan in April 2013, and has since garnered a dedicated fan base. There are 13 episodes in the series. It is available on Crunchyroll, but is not currently available on Netflix or Hulu. The story centers on two loner high school students. Yukino Yukinoshita is beautiful and picky, and is a member of a service club at her school. Hachiman Kikue is the other loner. Their love lives are entangled in a complex web.

The characters are also connected to various social groups. Minami is the leader of class 2F and holds a grudge against Yui. However, she was friendly with Yui during her first year of high school. She requested help from the Service Club when organizing a cultural festival, but Yukino accepted the position. The other characters have their own personalities and attitudes. Hachiman is a Cynic who lives in his fantasy world. Yoshiteru, meanwhile, is apathetic and lives in a fantasy world. The other two characters are Apathetic, and Conflicted. The Anime is not without its share of cynicism, but they are also very sympathetic to the character.

The characters are usually mixed with Type 1 and Type 3 personalities. In episode 6, Hachiman is seen taking Yukino’s sister shopping, where she mistakenly thinks he and Yui are having a date. After Hachiman and Yui argue for a while, Yui confesses to him, and Hachiman counters it with reasoning. He tries to convince her that he doesn’t like it, but it’s not working out.

Yui is a classmate of Hachiman and is a member of the Service Club. She is cheery and becomes the first customer of the Service Club when she asks them to bake cookies for someone. She is afraid of losing her friends, but Yui admires Yukino, which changes her outlook on life.
