The Japanese anime Noragami revolves around the story of a student of the middle school named Hiyori Iki, whose life changes 360 degrees when she gets to indulge in a bus accident. All she was trying to do at the moment was to protect the life of a strange person who was about to lose his life to the accident. Due to the unpleasant accident, her body undergoes eccentric changes. Her body and soul frequently separate from one another, and she unravels the hidden truths of two worlds: Near Shore World and Far Shore World. In Near Shore World, the main residents are normal human beings. Contrary to this, Far Shore World is occupied with humans and demons who live side by side. On one strange night, her soul leaves her body and starts a conversation with the odd creature Yato who claims to be the God.

Yato reveals some facts and tells her that he can reverse the change going on in her body and return; she is supposed to give him five yen. Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori become close companions, and throughout the Noragami series, they struggle with their pasts, identities, and friendships. The original series was directed and illustrated by Kotaro Tamura and Deko Akao. The music of Noragami received appreciation and recognition from music lovers. The Noragami music was composed by Taku Iwasaki. In January 2014, the series was broadcasted across Japan on different national platforms, including Tokyo MX, TVA, BS11, and MBS.

The license for distributing the Noragami series in the English language was issued to Madman Entertainment for distribution in Australia, Crunchyroll for distribution in North America, and Manga Entertainment for distribution in the United Kingdom. The positive response from the masses enforced a sense of accomplishment in the staff, due to which they came up with the sequel of the anime, which consisted of 13 episodes in total.
