It is a well-known fact that IZ*ONE will disband in April, 2019. Before this, IZ*ONE members had been in talks with management agencies for an extension of the contract. However, on March 10, the management agencies confirmed the disbanding. Regardless, the members will continue to be active in the entertainment industry. This news is a big relief for fans who have been wondering whether they can still hear the band’s music. Izone was formed in April 2021 and was comprised of nine Korean members and three Japanese members. The group was one of the first to implement both the Korea and Japan management system. Moreover, the group pioneered the private mail system for fans, which is similar to the ones used by other kpop groups such as AKB48. Furthermore, many members are bilingual, speaking at least two languages fluently. However, some members have been dropped from the group due to the pressures of being a member of the idol group.

The news of the group’s disbandment triggered a series of activities for their fans. First, the group released a photobook of their members with the title SURPR*IZ. Later, they announced that they would come back to Korea in December 2020 and perform at the FNS Music Festival. Additionally, they released their latest album, One-Reeler / Act IV. Additionally, their official twitter account began posting teaser images for the fans to see. In March, IZONE held an online concert called “One, The Story” on YouTube. A video of the second day of the concert was uploaded on April 29. The group expressed gratitude for the support of their fans and thanked WIZONE for everything. The group was formed through a survival show on Mnet called Produce48. Their contracts were only 2.5 years long, ending in April 2021. Their first album, “Girls Love Boys”, was certified platinum in the US and UK, and is rated a gold record in Japan. They plan to debut on MTV as a new girl group later in 2021. IZONE CHU’s new comeback was announced as a part of the June schedule by MNET. The new episodes always led up to a summer comeback. The group released their new single ‘EAT-TING TRIP’ as a promotional track for their upcoming comeback. A video for the new single was released on June 15, just as a teaser for the coming comeback. IZ*ONE CHU also announced a new mini-album on June 15.
