Horimiya is the story of Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura. The former is regarded as one of the bright students in her school. Contrary to her, the latter is regarded as a dull, gloomy high school boy who wears heavy glasses all the time. Hori lives with her younger brother Souta who fully depends on her for upbringing and care. Both the characters in Horimiya meet each other when on a fine day, Souta reaches home with blood coming out of his nose unto his shirt. He is accompanied by Izumi Miyamura, who has fewer piercings on his face and whose body is covered with a bunch of tattoos.

Both of the characters take an oath that they will camouflage each other true identity and will not let other fellows know who they are. As time passes by, they come close to each other and become something more than just friends, and the Horimiya story goes on. The Japanese animation Horimiya series was written and directed by Takao Yoshioka and Masashi Ishihama, respectively. The background music of the anime was given by Masaru Yokoyama. Crunchyroll was bestowed with the official license to publish the series in the English Language in Western countries, including Canada, North America, and Australia. In the English language, the series was featured on SEA and Animax Asia, whereas the original version of the series was featured on GYT, BS11, GTV, MBS, and Tokyo MX.

13 episodes of the Horimiya animation series were featured in Japan from January 2021 to April 2021. In 2014, the manga on which anime was made was given 6th position in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics. All the Horimiya characters featured in the animation series have a noticeable and distinct fan base as all the characters were developed and illustrated professionally and beautifully to add meaning to their traits. People from all over the world acknowledged the storyline and character design of the series.
