Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is one of the most popular rhythm games that was conceptualized by multinational Japanese-based video game companies Sega Corporation and Crypton Future Media in July 2009. In the earlier days, Hatsune Miku was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Sega Nu, Sega RingEdge, Nintendo Switch, ioS, and Android. The game mode of Hatsune Miku is similar to other popular rhythm games. In Hatsune Miku, potential players are required to select a Vocaloid song from a bunch of options available to them. The original versions of these songs are sung by vocaloids, whereas some songs are also sung by Meiko, Hatsune Miku, Kaito, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Rin, plus players are provided with an open hand to select a character of their choice to initiate the game.

All the game characters in the Hatsune Miku series are called modules – all the modules have different costumes, appearances, and identities. The character chosen by the players will appear in the videos in different costumes and forms, though these special characters are not under the direct control of a player. For instance, if one player opted for Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin for their game characters, then both characters will somewhere make an appearance in the music video. However, the singer chosen for the first character will make a special appearance in all solo songs, and both characters will appear in duets. Hatsune Miku is equipped with songs that have their uniqueness and difficulties meaning that difficulty level ranges from Easy to Normal to Hard to Extreme and from Extreme to Extra Extremes.

The last two levels of songs are introduced in the upgraded versions of Hatsune Miku. To move forward in the rhythm game Hatsune Miku, players are required to unlock all the songs from the playlist available. Without completing a particular song, players can’t make any progress in the game.
