A Social Deduction Game Among Us was introduced under the banner of the game development company Innersloth. The game makers claimed that they got inspiration from the horror movie The Thing and a social deduction game Mafia. Among Us encapsulate the elements from the aforementioned inspirations. The plot of Among Us is centred around a Space that is filled with distinctive armless characters playing the role of astronauts. Astronauts are subcategorized into impostors and crew members. Crew members join hands to eradicate impostors using deductive reasoning and a plurality voting system. Crew members are assigned a task, and their main job is to complete the assigned task within a given period and assassinate the impostors.
On the other hand, the primary task of the impostor is to camouflage its true identity and cause hindrances in the way of crewmates. A crewmember or impostor who is ejected and is declared dead by other players turns into a ghost. The ghost explicitly facilitates the performance of the crewmate or impostor depending upon the team to which a ghost belongs. Among Us is a multiplayer online game available on iPhones and Android devices, and around 4 to 15 players can take part in the game simultaneously. Reports have disclosed that the game is most celebrated and relished in South Korea, Brazil and Mexico. The game is accessible on a Live-Streaming platform called Twitch. After the game was being introduced to Twitch in the middle of 2020, it became more popular among gamers.
