The 44th Kodansha Manga Award 2021 winner Tokyo Revengers is a Japanese manga series blended with an element of action and thrill. Established comic artist Ken Wakui coins down Tokyo Revengers. The action-thriller anime is being featured in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017. Tokyo Revengers demonstrates a story of a 26-year-old underemployed man Takemichi Hanagaki who comes to know in adolescence that Tokyo Manji Gang assaulted his younger brother Naoto and his ex-girlfriend and darling Hinata Tachibana. The leader of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Mikey, becomes friends with Hanagaki due to Hanagaki’s loyalty to his friends and his protective attitude towards them.
One of the Manji Gang members, Kiyomasa push the friends of Hanagaki into different underground missions, and Takemichi would go to any level to save his friends from the torments of the gang members. In doing so, Hanagaki becomes friends with the leader of the gang. After they become friends, Hanagaki successfully saves his close friend Akkun from the torments and tortures of the gang, but mentally Akkun becomes weak and commits suicide. His suicide gives birth to the beast sleeping in the body of Hanagaki, so he decides to wage war against the gang.
Throughout the story, Hanagaki strives to protect and defend his friends. Reports have declared that more than 40 million copies of Tokyo Revengers have been sold worldwide. The debut volume of Tokyo Revengers was released in 2017, and the 25th volume of the series was released in 2021. Liden Films and Koichi Hatsumi produced and directed the anime of Tokyo Revengers, respectively. The anime was featured on MBS in April 2021, and the last episode of the anime was broadcast in September 2021. Eill composed the ending song Take A Breath Here of the anime, and Official Hige Dandyism composed the starting song Cry Baby. Tokyo Avenger was adapted into a movie in February 2020.
